Training as an Agile Project (TAP)
8 Modules with practical challenges
Training as an Agile Project (TAP) shows you how an iterative teaching process inspired by agile project management leads to effective learning.
It provides structure and flexibility and continuously adapts to learners’ needs, contexts and goals.
The process is brought alive by team collaboration, co-creation, and collective intelligence. The team monitors the learning process by defining indicators and observing the visible evidence of learning. This process is strengthened by useful insights from applied neuroscience.
“The main characteristic of the program is the importance we place on sharing experiences, understandings, best practices, observations, and feedback. It’s meant to be an interactive exchange as well as an internal, reflective process. “
Business Class founder, Daphne Elie and ACC Coach, Gabriella Benkő
What Is Tap?
Up your SKILL LEVEL
via Thought Provoking Discussions with Your Peers
Connect with a community of professionals like you and learn from shared experiences. “Alone we are smart. Together we are brilliant.” (Steven Anderson)
Increase EFFECTIVENESS
through Co-creation with Your Learners
The learning process becomes more visible for the learner, they become more aware of their learning, and the measures of their own progress. They become actors and creators of their own learning process, and thanks to this active role they feel more invested and confident.
NEXT KICK-OFF: SEPTEMBER 2023
Module 1: The Kick-Off
The first meeting with a new group or an individual learner is a crucial moment and sets the tone of the course. This is the time for getting to know each other, creating the team, and finding common goals. Discussing expectations, roles and constraints ensures clarity which in turn ensures that everyone is on the ‘same page’. This is the initiation phase of a project.
Module 2: Planning the Common Project
Once the ‘ice has been broken’ it’s time to give the course direction, by taking into account all the parameters: current skills, specific goals, time frame, logistics, feasibility to name a few. How do we achieve the end desired result? What are the building blocks and milestones? This is the planning phase of a project.

Module 3: Sprints
For optimum learning, it’s better to go step by step. Breaking up a 30-hour course into 4 or 5 sections, or sprints, allows learners to see where they are going and how they are doing. How are these sprints structured to ensure that the goals are achieved? What content will be introduced in each sprint? How will the success of the sprints be measured? This is the execution phase of a project.
Module 4: Trainer Impact
The three first modules are about processes, the next three are about human magic. A process only has value if it makes things work smoothly and efficiently, but it’s people and communication that provide the lubricant.
Module 8: Project Debrief
Just as the kick-off is crucial, closing a training project is as important. This is a time for review, for taking stock but also for celebration. The debrief is very often a neglected phase but which is an ideal opportunity to measure the journey taken and to set new goals for the future.
Module 7: Evidence
A project that is handled well includes monitoring. Thanks to monitoring or checking-in at regular intervals, the project has a greater chance of success. We believe that attention should be paid to finding evidence of achievement throughout a course. Doing this is a powerful way to make the learner aware of where he stands in relation to his stated goal. He can then decide what the next step is. Checking-in thus becomes an integral part of the learning process.
Module 6: Feedforward
When learners, and trainers, receive feedback, they usually get positive and negative information about how they did a task. Feedforward is different in that it focuses on the future as well as the current reality and is delivered in a mindful, brain-friendly and constructive way. It supports the learning process by pointing out not only how well a learner performed but also how he might develop his skills further. We also cover self directed and peer feedback/forward in this module.
Module 5: Drivers
By drivers, we refer to what encourages people to take action, gives them energy to move forward. One of them is motivation. Simply being present in class is not a guarantee of motivation. What influences motivation and how can it be fostered? The other driver is metacognition, the mechanism of thinking about thinking. Reflective thinking is the ability to reflect critically on learning experiences and processes in order to inform future progress. Again, human magic plays a vital part in maintaining the drivers.

"The time frame was great. We practised as we did the course, we had time to time to think about our practices, to do the challenges that were set, and we were able to put in practice what was suggested in real time and that was really useful."
Andrea M
"Usually in a training course you write things down, but you don't put the theory into practice. At the end of the course you put your notebook in a drawer and forget about it, but I have my notebook on my desk and I delve into it. That's the real sign of a successful course."
